When I first met Dr. Stitts, I was a student struggling to find direction. My grades were mediocre, and I lacked a clear sense of purpose or professional identity. Dr. Stitts’ guidance came at a pivotal time in my life, and her mentorship changed everything for me.
Through her Professional Enhancement Program, she taught me the importance of professionalism and self-presentation — lessons that went far beyond clothing. With her encouragement, I became active in our business school’s marketing club and played a key role in sponsoring our school’s first business conference. That event brought together students from other universities and guest speakers from the business community, creating a network of inspiration that I’ll never forget.
Dr. Stitts didn’t just help me improve academically; she instilled in me a sense of purpose, confidence, and leadership. Today, I am an Accounts Reconciliation Analyst at Big City Tourism, one of New York City’s largest Black-owned tour companies. In addition to my accounting duties, I actively contribute marketing ideas that have helped the company grow — a direct reflection of the leadership and initiative Dr. Stitts inspired in me.
I can say without hesitation that Dr. Stitts played a defining role in shaping my professional path. Her influence continues to ripple through my career and my life.
